Commissioner Reardon Hosts Hicksville Recruitment Day

11 Businesses to Offer 477 Job Opportunities
Event is Part of Commissioner’s Statewide Tour to Promote Local Hiring

Albany, NY (June 21, 2017) -

New York State Labor Commissioner Roberta Reardon today announced that the eighth Recruitment Day in her statewide tour will be held Thursday, June 22nd at the Hicksville Career Center, located at 303 Old Country Road in Hicksville. The event will run from 10a.m. to 12p.m., with 11 businesses offering 477 job opportunities expected to attend.

“Recruitment events are always exciting for businesses and job seekers alike,” said Commissioner Reardon. “For businesses, these events offer a unique opportunity to survey local talent and for job seekers, they offer the face-to-face meeting that can make the difference in getting that new job they’re after. The Department of Labor is pleased to be able to facilitate these events and I look forward to a productive day in Hicksville!”

At Governor Andrew M. Cuomo’s direction, Commissioner Reardon has been traveling throughout the state in order to facilitate Recruitment Day events to promote hiring local workers. She has also been meeting with union leadership to discuss regional issues.

All events are free of charge for both businesses and job seekers.

Job seekers are encouraged to dress professionally and bring several copies of their resumes.
