Description:

A reinsurance intermediary acts as a broker in soliciting, negotiating or procuring the writing of any reinsurance contract or binder. Reinsurance intermediaries act as insurance agents in accepting any reinsurance contract or binder on behalf of an insurer (an insurer may be a person, firm, association, or corporation).

Licensing Requirements:

Persons seeking a New York State license as a reinsurance intermediary must apply to the NYS Department of Financial Services.
